Established over 25 years ago in Penicuik by Harry Blackley, a member of the Penicuik Fire Services. The business grew threw the 1980’s and quickly became well established in the Lothians for delivering friendly, reliable and quality service.
Harry continued to run the business with the help of his son until 2007 when the business was sold to Mike and Graeme. Since then they have continued the family values the business was formed on.

A long running association…
We have been working with Dunedin Canmore Housing Association for a number of years. We have installed blinds within the office at New Mart Road in Edinburgh.
We have also been offering support to Dunedin Canmore in their properties throughout Edinburgh, the Lothian’s and Fife.
Vincent Bell
Positioned as one of the most exclusive salons in Edinburgh.
We manufactured, branded, supplied and installed roller blinds for the prestigious salon. Roller blinds were fitted throughout the ground floor salon and the first floor training salon.
By adding the Vincent Bell logo to the clean contemporary blinds adds a simple elegance whilst creating brand awareness.

Edinburgh Academy
Continual education…
We have a long standing relationship with Edinburgh Academy, we have carried out various projects over the years.
We have installed black out roller blinds into classrooms and we installed blinds and curtains into the Robertson Music room.
Our continuing relationship is mainly repair and maintenance of blinds that were installed by another company.
The Festival Theatre, Edinburgh
Normally you associate theatres with curtains not blinds…
We were contracted to supply and install some black out blinds for the Festival Theatres new build dance studios. The Studio is a flexible space which can accommodate a range of uses from rehearsals and workshops to small-scale performances and festivals.
We installed large cassette blackout blinds to the four, 5 metre high windows.
NHS, Lothian
Looking after the NHS Lothians
We have been continuing our relationship with NHS Lothians throughout East and Midlothian. We offer ongoing support within the hospitals, care facilities and doctors surgeries.
Recently we completed the installation of vertical blinds finished in an antibacterial wipe-down fabric for the Musselburgh Primary Care Centre.

Mike Trotter | Joint Managing Director
Don’t be fooled by the name everything is above board and we don’t have an office in Peckham. (Well not yet…) Mike joined his father in the family business in 1993, quickly learning his trade. Nearly 10 years ago Mike took over from his father became Joint Managing Director. Mike’s key roles include Business Development / Marketing, sales and fittings of blinds. Living in East Lothian with his wife, 2 children and dog: Mike is perfectly located to service Midlothian, East Lothian and Edinburgh.

Graeme Eddington | Joint Managing Director
Graeme joined Athena Blinds almost 10 years ago as Joint Managing Director. Today he is responsible primarily for the finance of the business but also handles sales and fitting of the blinds. Living in Edinburgh with his wife and 2 children; Graeme is ideally located to respond to City Centre requests but also covers the Lothians and Fife.
